Wapello County Conservation Board Parks
Painted Turtle Rock Bluff Park - Located 4 miles NW of Ottumwa on Rock Bluff Road, this park offers four primitive riverfront camping pads, and two tent sites. The upper parking area provides a scenic view of the Des Moines River. There are approximately 28 acres of woodland south of the road open to hunting.

DeVol Wildlife Area - 6 miles north of Ottumwa on Highway 63, this 80 acre area is half row crop, half prairie retoration/CRP ground and great for pheasants. Open to hunting.

Buckeye Wildlife Area - 2 miles east of Bladensburg on the Bladensburg Road. 114 acres of Cedar and Buckeye Creek wooded bottomland. Open to hunting.

Gray Eagle Wildlife Reserve - 142 acres of sand bar and open water that provides excellent viewing of waterfowl. No hunting is allowed on this area, located south of Excel on Iowa Avenue in Ottumwa.

Cardinal Wildlife Area - 3 miles north of Eldon. This area has 40 acres and is open to hunting.

McNeese Wildlife Area - 2 miles NW of Chillicothe. This area has 14 acres and is open to hunting.
