Wednesday, December 27 thru Friday, December 29 - Fascination Station Parents, are you looking for something for your kids
to do over Christmas vacation? Why not bring them to Pioneer Ridge Nature Center to explore the Fascination Station. Each day will have
an exciting and fun activity. On Wednesday: Simple Machines, on Thursday: Electric Experiments, and on Friday: Rockets!
Cost is $1.00 per child.
Time: 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
December 14 thru January 5 - Christmas Bird Count There will be a Christmas Bird Count in Wapello County January 3, 2001.

Saturday, January 20 - Winter Survival 101 Do you know what to do when you get lost in the woods or when your car gets
stuck in the snow? If you answered no, then it's time to learn the basics to winter survival. Dress for the weather, for some of the
activities will be outside.
Time: 9:00 a.m to 10:00 a.m.
Saturday, February 3 - Eagle Day at Pioneer Ridge Nature Center Presenter with live birds and a bus tour to eagle sites along
the Des Moines River near Ottumwa. Cost is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for students (5-16 years of age). Pre-registration is required. Last
day to register is January 24 at 4:30 p.m.
Time: 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 1 - Attracting Backyard Wildlife Wildlife management can begin in your own backyard regardless of its size.
Learn how to attract songbirds, butterflies, hummingbirds, and a wide variety of other wildlife to your yard. Learn how to certify your yard as
Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation.

Saturday, March 14 - Wild Turkey Seminar A seminar presented by expert turkey hunters. They will discuss proven field techniques that will
assist both beginner and advanced hunters bag their spring gobbler.
